I Am Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou was a famous African American author, actress and poet. She was born on April 4th 1928. Angelou was birthed in St. Louis Missouri.

A wonderful woman she was. Angelou spent her whole life as a christian, fighting for justice and love. She won many awards, such as, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Angelou published lots of poetry and three books. Some of her work included books like, I Know Why The Cage Bird Sangs (1969), The Heart of a Woman (1981) & Gather Together in My Name 1974. These books received a lot of recognition.

Maya Angelou birthed one child, a son, Guy Johnson. She was a mother with being married to three different men. Even though a prostitute in her early age, Angelou still became an amazing woman.

On May 28, 2014, she passed away peacefully in her home in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Maya Angelou, a Phenomenal Woman, Author and Poet. A piece of history that will be forever missed.
